Article marketing is an effective traffic building tool and a good article with relevant keywords can increase a blogs traffic significantly. An interesting article targeting a highly searched keyword can sometimes bring in 5 to 10 visitors or more a day to your site.

What should you do to maximize your article marketing? Only submit articles to the correct directories for their niche. It makes no sense to write a good article and then submit it to the wrong place. There are really only 4 or 5 directories that make a difference. How do you get your article read? First of all don’t bore the reader. Also, make reading easier by including numbered lists and bullet points so the reader can skim the article. For example, the most effective sales letters always include a lot of bullet points and transition effects. This makes it easier for the skimmer to get the gist as well. Catering to both reading styles is CRUCIAL.

Constructing the resource box. Your main goal here should be on the benefits to the reader. It’s a bad idea to write about yourself in the resource box; the reader doesn’t care about you, they want to know what you have to offer. For instance, if the article is about weight loss, you might say something like “learn how to lose 20 pounds in 10 days or less by visiting”

The article title should be interesting enough to grab the reader’s interest so they want to see what you have to say.

Focus on getting your article published on other sites. Increasing traffic and building back links is the result of writing a good article that people will want to read.
